Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. He can't help it. God's love is so amazing, so much better than anything this life has to offer, so far beyond life itself, that he cannot contain himself. His mouth pours out glory to the most amazing thing that he knows. Many times what we love the most is what we talk about the most. It is like there is this connection between our mouth and our heart. Jesus even tells us that, "...out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks." If you want to know where your treasure is, ask yourself what you talk about the most.
by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they might be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But wrath has come upon them at last! (1 Thessalonians 2:16 - ESV) Continued clarification as to how the Jews of Jerusalem perscuted the church, killed Jesus, displeased God, and ultimately were opposing all of mankind: They hindered the Gospel. Hindering the speaking of the Gospel is opposition to all of mankind. This verse ends on a challenging statement. Paul mentions that they are filling up the measure of their sins. and that wrath has come. There are many views on this, and commentators do not agree on the meaning, but there is a consensus that in some way it echoes Old Testament statements like the ones referring to the sin of the Amorites not being complete... ( Genesis 15:16 ) The wrath that has come upon them is most likely referring to the fact that those who do not believe will experience the fullness of God's wrath.
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. (ESV) David has made this teaching about the Omnipresence of God very personal. He has spoken about himself in each of these verses, but in these two verses he move in just a little bit closer to the mind and heart of God. He reveals that God's presence isn't that of a bystander. God is where David is, and He is there with arms extended. He is helping David, He is leading him and guiding him. God is holding him up. God's Omnipresence isn't that of a whispy vapor. He also isn't just "in" everything. He is PRESENT!
