By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
(NIV)
Jacob, the deceiver, had changed over time. No longer is he trying to work everything out himself. Instead he is fully dependent on the God of his father and his grandfather.
Now, in Egypt, he blesses Joseph's sons. He wants to pass the promise down, so that they might live by faith. He worships God, not laying down, because Egypt is not his home. He leans on the top of his staff, ready to go.
